Rocket Spelling can help you to differentiate your classroom spelling instruction. Here are a few different ways that you could use Rocket Spelling to differentiate your students' spelling:

  1. Give Rocket Spelling levels as a pretest to see where your students are at. You might consider having students try a various collection of levels, for example those on short vowels, to see what your students already know before you've taught a certain topic.

  2. Have students progress through Rocket Spelling at their own pace. Then, when you see on your progress page that a student has hit an area of weakness, you can pull that individual (or a small group, when applicable) to provide instruction on that specific topic.

  3. Use Rocket Spelling alongside mini-lessons you've taught. This is similar to the idea above, but in this case you might try teaching your mini-lessons first and then using Rocket Spelling as more of an assessment tool. Based on those results, remediation could then be given as needed.

Our hope is that you find that Rocket Spelling can help you to meet your students' individual spelling needs more effectively than any one-size-fits-all weekly test ever could!
